Sometimes It’s Not Your “Why”, It’s Your “What”

Podcast episode at the bottom of this post. This is not a transcript, this is a synopsis.

I know you’ve heard it – “FIND YOUR WHY and you can accomplish anything!”

I’m not going to say finding your WHY isn’t powerful, it truly is. Your why is your driving force.

Your why may not be strong enough to push through your “what”.

What are you doing to make that money?

I’ve tried several side hustles using my “why”… and I fell flat. I never made much more money (if any) than what I put in.

I wanted to love the products, I did. I would spend tons of time and effort memorizing scripts and perfecting strategies for dominating the market.

Sounds good, right?

I worked hard, I followed the plan, and I failed over and over again.

Ultimately, I realized that I wasn’t passionate about it. I liked and used the product, but I also knew that there were other cheaper products. I knew that because I am cheap frugal and I knew if I wasn’t selling this product, I’d opt for something cheaper.

Now that I’m in real estate, I have passion. I have love for what I do. I am growing and making more now than I ever did with the other ventures.

So, I just wanted to send a reminder that sometimes it’s not your why, but what you’re doing that may limit your success.

Find your WHY, then find your WHAT!

New Podcast Episode: It’s Graduation Season {Run Your World: 8}

After a two week break, April and Kweyah caught up talking about April’s Rooms To Go winnings and shopping for a new dining room table and girls’ bed.

The conversation led into April’s son’s middle school graduation and the hoopla that surrounds it. Both April and Kweyah are disappointed in the length that graduations have gotten, but there are so many to go to.

Finally, April talked about what “doing it all” means to each woman.

Please leave a comment or question for us to address. We want this to be a conversation between us and you.

New Podcast Episode: Run Your World {Behind Every Great Man Stands A Great Woman}

The end of the school year has really put a damper in the consistency of my podcast recording, but I am finally starting to get the hang. Take a listen to Run Your World and let me know what you think!

In the midst of all the world chaos, couples standing side by side is the most apparent for long term success. April and Kweyah address one of the harder subjects where women will break down their men instead of build them up.

Please give April any feedback on: Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and Pinterest at @theaprilnoelle.

The Latest on April Noelle {1}

April Noelle started at the beginning of this year, after blogging for several years at I really wanted to change the genre and move to a more community based blog, and less about weight loss.

Weirdly, since the transition, I’ve actually gotten more weight loss offers and as long as I’m on my journey, I will continue to bring those to you.

In addition, I wanted to let you know a little about the other things going on here.

The Latest

First, I’m completely revamping my Pinterest boards so that it’s more streamlined. The biggest change for you would be my giveaway board. This board is for giveaways that I think that YOU would be interested in. I update it regularly, either as I come across new giveaways or search them out. I also will remove old giveaways so that you can see the latest and greatest. I’ll admit, there will be a focus on cash, Paypal and Amazon gift cards since those are the most universal.

Follow April’s board Giveaways on Pinterest.
Second, I’m extremely excited about my new podcast: Run Your World. We talk about the entire woman. We cover the difficult topics of finance, and the fun topics of reality television. We look to grow the entire woman, making her stronger, more confident and happier. I would LOVE if you would listen in, let us know how we’re doing and leave us a little love note.

Third, I have also started two new semi-event based series called PBC Pinpoint and PBC Pinpoint Kids. These are things to do around town. I will be looking for things that are not easily come across and/or trying to make this a place where you can get all of your local information, especially on a budget. I will start rating places based on my kids’ attraction to it as well as the basic question of “Is it worth it?”

We’re making a lot of progress with our book drive. We have hit about the half way mark of my goal ~ 250 books! I’m still on a mission to hit 500 books for low income families who will be attending a Community Baby Shower. I’m still accepting donations of new or gently used books. If you would like to donate, feel free to contact me or you can send books through Amazon. For more information, click the icon below.

My husband has started a great new company, Bahamas Sands Body, which features it’s first product: Exumas Isles Softening Foot Scrub. Sand taken from the exclusive Exumas Islands in the Bahamas help soften your feet. If you’d like to purchase a jar, please do so at our Etsy shop.

Finally, I’d like to say thank you to all of you have been here over the years. I have been working to manage a growing family… my kids are getting older, no I’m not having another, and grow my husband’s business. Keeping this blog, the comments and love have helped me get through some of the tougher times.

Please keep coming back, leaving comments and letting me know what you’d like to see more of.

Baltimore, Godparents and Aging with Run Your World {5}

We’re on iTunes! 🙂 Soon we should be on Stitcher too! Follow us. Check out the link on the right.

This week on Run Your World, Kweyah and April discuss the Baltimore riots. Not only do we talk about what’s going on, what topics are being avoided, we also talk about potential solutions to the continuing issue of police brutality and deaths of people in their custody.

Next, we talk a little about the roles of a Godparent. What are they? What should they be? And how much do you think a Godparent should do to bridge a gap in parenting.

Finally, we talk about a website that’s judging people’s ages: It’s a website sweeping the nation and the results are not always positive.

If you like what you hear, please share it with your friends, help us grow our community. Feel free to post comments on what you would like us to talk about so that this can be a discussion between us and you.

An Unusual Week of Feeling Accomplished

At the end of my world, I want to know I did something, affected someone, completed something. The days I hate most are the ones that I feel like nothing got done, including spending time with my children.

I have days like that. Days where I do “stuff” all day long, but by the time I lay my head, I can’t really remember what that “stuff” was.

Thankfully, that wasn’t this week. Lots of kid time, cleaning time, friend time and wife time.

My cousin came into town and we had a blast. Mini shots of Jack Daniel’s, the gym and a beautiful walk along the beach. I was able to fully enjoy her company, with the children during the day, without at night. Although in regards to working out, I’m glad she left. I realize that I’m not in the place to enjoy a “regular” gym, and have been really enjoying my time at CrossFit over the last month.

I started a book drive for low income families a little while ago and I was trying to create my own logo. After weeks of trying, I’ve given the project over to another cousin that hopefully bring it to life. I’ve seen drafts and it’s getting there. In the meantime, I have been asked to provide a flyer to pass out, and I finally finished it.

My sister in law has been gracious enough to ask her students to support the drive and some friends and family have donated some books. It looks like I will hit my minimum mark of 150 books. Of course, I would still love more… a lot more. My ultimate goal is over 500.

After such a rough last week, we were healthy enough to finally to family photos. It’s been about three years and none with Butterfly. Alee Carter from Your Life Photography took over 400 photos, mostly because even though she was healthy, Butterfly was not ready to entertain or be entertained.

She is finally in better spirits and can give me a smile like this instead. I know it’s a soft smile, but I love her little grins.

After over a week hiatus, we completed our third podcast. It was cut short due to time constraints, but our next one should make up for it and possibly we’ll have a guest! So far, I’m loving the experience and the idea.

Spring is here. I’ve never done it before but I’m so ready to clean this house from top to bottom. Over the last month, I’ve been cleaning the garage box by box, with a growing give away/donate pile. I don’t look forward to cleaning the bathrooms or the floors, but I have my husband and son to help, right?

My birthday is next week and I’ve told my husband that I wanted to go out of town. He’s planning to surprise me, but I’ve been thinking of much more. If time were no option, I would love to do a European tour. You know, one that’s up and down or left and right of the Mediterranean. I would love to venture into each country and spend some real time see the historic aspects that we just don’t really have here in the states.

Blog hopping this week, I was inspired by these posts which made me feel like I could get some things done: Fun Snacks for Healthy Kids, 9 Smart Ways to Spend Your Tax Refund, and On the Last Day of My World.
