Alphabet Soup

I got this from Janine over at Janine’s Confessions of a Mommyholic. She calls it “Old School Blogging”, which I can only assume that it’s a method of blogging before I started this game less than a year ago.

Here We Go Now:
A. Attached or Single?
Attached!!  Mostly head over heels happily for over 10 years. I don’t have a date because our relationship kinda coasted from casual to serious.
B. Best Friend?
A year ago, I would’ve held fast to my high school best friend, but time and space has pulled us apart. To be honest, my best friend has been my husband, without whom I would have not survived some of my worst moments. He has seen me in total despair and for some reason is still hanging around. I have to thank God for him!
C. Cake or pie?
I have to say it really depends on my mood. Over the past few years, I don’t have either around me often, so when I see either, I normally happily indulge! I would LOVE to try one of these cominations.
D. Day of choice?
Thursday. It means the weekday is coming to an end. Means that my husband will be home for more than a couple of hours in the day and actually be able to participate in the kids lives. I love to see them interact.  I can’t wait until we move since most of his time is consumed job searching until confirmation of a job transfer comes through.
E. Essential Item?
DVR and television. It has truly become my addiction and guess what, I don’t care. I love watching new shows and old, series and movies.
F. Favorite color?
Blue, if I have to choose. At one point in time, I liked purple, but that was more because I had to choose something that wasn’t pink. Growing up, I was given a lot of pink things… no matter how much I despised it, so I picked purple.
G. Gummy bears or worms?
This is more a brand question. Some brands make awesome gummy bears in all sorts of flavors.
H. Hometown?
I would have to say Azusa, California. It was the place that I lived the longest in one spot as a child that  I can remember. I moved there when I started 7th grade and moved right before 12th.
I. Favorite Indulgence?
Having dinner and drinks with friends. I tend to be a little spendy when this happens since it doesn’t happen very often.
J. January or July?
January. I love the cold and winter. When it snows, it’s the most beautiful thing in the world. It means that the family is forced together in the home, sitting in front of the fireplace, watching movies and entertaining themselves. The world can’t get in the way.
K. Kids?
Two for now…D turned 9 in February, B will be 2 in December, and a little girl due in October.
L. Life isn’t complete without?
My husband and kids!!
M. Marriage date?
January 27, 2007
N. Number of brothers/sisters?
There are several marriages and remarriages – in total seven. I’m not particularly close to any of them.
O. Oranges or Apples.
Depending on mood. I really like apples, but they are hard for me to eat, I have sensitive gums.
P. Phobias?
Nothing specific. Anything I can bring up, I’ve had to deal with in one way or another. If I had to say something, crazy psychopathic monkeys!
Q. Quotes?
I’ve fallen victim to this one many times. When someone hurts others, don’t keep them close to you by saying “well, they haven’t hurt me”. It’s just a matter of time. I’m not saying kick them out of your life, but see them for who they are, instead of who you want them to be.
R. Reasons to smile?
My husband and kids. It’s the family that I never knew I wanted or needed. They have saved my life.
S. Season of choice?
Autumn… it means that the weather is cooling, the days are shorter and family can spend more time together.
T. This was initially “Tag 5 People” but I’m changing it to
U. Unknown fact about me?
Not passing the bar the first time was the first time that I felt that I failed. I may have not succeeded at other things, but it was because I didn’t try hard enough, I made the wrong decision or other people factored into the equation. It was the first time that I tried super hard and didn’t “win”.
V. Vegetable?
Potatoes – they’re easy, they’re filling, their versatile. With cheese, they’re perfection!
W. Worst habit?
I can’t articulate what I want and I hate asking for help. Growing up, asking for help always meant conditions and reminders of “this is what I did for you”, so I avoid it at all costs.
X. Xray or Ultrasound?
Not sure of the question – want them or had them? Wanted neither, had both! Fractured my ankle in high school and on my fourth child coming into this world. I’ve had too many to count.
Y. Your favorite food?
Good food. I’m not prejudicial! My dinner of choice is sushi!
Z. Zodiac sign?
Taurus. I’m stubborn and pigheaded, but I’m the first day of Taurus, so I think I have quite a few Aries attributes – versatile, courageous, and impatient.
