Library Adventure Museum Pass Tips ~ Palm Beach County Libraries

First, I have to apologize. This post is coming to you a day late.

I went to the library yesterday (June 1st) at 10:30, expecting a story time for my girls and ended up finding out that it’s the first day of the FREE Library Adventure Museum Pass (aka LAMP).

Here are your Library Adventure Museum Pass Tips.

PBC Library

What is LAMP?

On June 1st and July 1st, each Palm Beach County Library offers passes to museums within the county. The participating organizations are donating all of the free admissions. In cases where the entrance is free, additional benefits are offered to LAMP holders.

Tip: These passes are extremely limited, remember FIRST COME, FIRST SERVED. Often the first people have multiple children and will take several passes before you even get to the front.

Why is LAMP awesome?

You can get free admission to some of the greatest libraries in the county, including the South Florida Science Center and Aquarium. You can save anywhere up to $50 for local museums. You will also find out about several museums in the area that you never even thought about.

Where can you get your LAMP?

At any of the local county libraries.

Tip: If you don’t have the option at your local library, you may have the option at another. Remember, it’s FIRST COME, FIRST SERVED. Each library has it’s own stash of passes.

When can you get your LAMP?

On June 1st and July 1st, each library is stocked with a LIMITED amount of tickets. You have to arrive when the library opens (or before) so that you can ensure you get your first choice of library.

How do you get your LAMP?

You receive one free LAMP per child’s library account. You MUST have a card present to receive your LAMP.

Tip: ALL children count, including those who aren’t readers. Make sure that the babies have an active library card prior to June or July 1st. You can receive up to four (4) free passes for the library card.

What we received?

Four (4) free admissions to the Norton Museum of Art and four (4) free admissions to the Boca Raton Museum of Art, which means that the entire family can get in free to both of these museums this summer. Check off two for the bucket list!

We only got tickets based on Bee and the newest library card owner, Butterfly. Bunny has not used his access to LAMP. We could also try another library tomorrow to see if there are better selections elsewhere.

Tip: Children need not be present. Parents can utilize their kids’ cards to obtain a LAMP.

If you hit up your museum on June 2nd, don’t fret. Mark your calendars for July 1st and get the museum you desire!

UPDATE: You can get a free LAMP per day, per location until gone. So, go back every day and get your LAMP and access to some awesome county museums.

Here out museums offer passes year round and we take full advantage of them. Each town’s libraries have different passes, but it;s all the same network, so they all share.

  2. That is one thing I do plan to do this summer. Museums with my kiddos. Of course we don’t have any cool museums aimed at kids but I haven’t ever been to a museum either. How fun.

  3. This sound really great. I always enjoyed taking my son to the library and museums when he was younger.

  4. This seems like a great program and one that families with kids you really take advantage of. It is great to take advantage of all of the local libraries and the museums in the summer when kids are off.

  5. I love taking the kids to museums and libraries. Our local library has some great programs in the summer for kids to enjoy.

  6. The entrance to our museums here are not free. I wish we have something like that, so we can go more often.

  7. LAMP sounds awesome. I wonder if we have something similar in place around here. I’d love to utilize it if we do.

  8. I would love to have that around here! Although our libraries are just libraries, it would be great to have more museums around here

I love programs like this that offer families ways to enrich their children’s experiences with museums and things without breaking the banks!

My kids have grown up going to the library all the time. It is a great place for kids to learn a love for reading. Now that my kids are teenagers they still love to go to the library and see what books they can find.

  11. That sounds awesome all but the fact that there’s limited amount and most people don’t even get a chance. I almost hate that these places cost money, but int he end it’s what runs it. If there was a way to get a pass like that we’d use it

  12. This sounds like a great program to keep the kids entertained during this summer. We love to visit museum with Kids. Museums and Libraries are the best places to spend time as it helps kids to learn a lot and get intrested in to reading as well.
