Since I have a regular Friday posting, I’m going to continue doing Finish the Sentence Friday on Saturday. A little late, but better than never, right?
This week’s prompt is “I Used to Love…” and the remainder of the sentence can be finished in so many ways! And this week, I’m not just going to choose one.
1. Reading. Before I went to college, I could finish a book a week… sometimes two and three hundred page books in a week. I would curl up and just read to my heart’s content in order to make sure that I finished it because I was just that into it. Then I went to law school. It KILLED my love of reading. I wanted to read so much, but literally my eyes hurt from trying to read “for pleasure”. I just could not do that much reading and still function (or see).
2. Working. I used to work a lot… and I loved doing it. I would work 50-70 hours a week and not think twice. Let’s be real, I LOVED the money I was making. My lowest wage was $13 an hour, and after so many hours I made time and a half. At the time, I ended up giving quite a bit of back to family, so I don’t have much to show for it, but at the time, I liked helping out. Now, working makes me feel like I’m abandoning my family. Blogging and coaching is about it for me. Flexibility and fitting it in while the children are occupied are what I enjoy now.
3. Sleeping. Who am I kidding? I still love sleeping, I just don’t get it anymore. I was an 8-hour girl. No more or less was necessary. I was clockwork. Now even on nights that I’m lucky enough to get 8 hours, I don’t feel like it’s nearly enough. I wish I could sleep for a whole day, but when there’s always a kid tugging at your leg, then sleeping just gets put on the back burner.
