Today’s Tuesday Topics is Six Favorite Things in your house. I’m going to take it literally where I will only list things – because really my favorite things are the people that are here…
One thing about me is that I almost always have the television and for the television to work properly, I definitely need a remote. Who wants to get up and change the channel every time? And in this day and age, I don’t think you can do most of the functions with the television and/or cable box, more specifically, my DVR. The DVR has saved my sanity and my relationship! Considering 90% of the time, my husband and I watch two totally different types of shows, I’m a-okay watching my show the next day. Since he works far and is home limited most days, I feel like he should get to watch what he wants. I get all the next day to catch up. My ass also seems to like the couch, because without it, I’d be sitting on the floor enjoying television. I don’t find the floor comfortable, although I would make do.
On the occasion that a mother of a one-year gets some sleep, I happy to have my bed. be able to sit and enjoy a good book while sitting in bed, resting it, my lamp and my phone on the night stand. My night stand is part of this beautiful wood bedroom set that I bought for $300 – headboard, two dressers, two night stands and a giant mirror. Or And even though she doesn’t use it nearly as much as I’d like, there’s always my daughter’s bed. On a related note, I really love my shower, it really is the only alone time I get during the day, and I don’t get it every day.
As much as I hate to admit it, I’m connected to my phone. I’m not addicted, but I have realized that I check it more than I need to every day, especially playing Scramble with Friends, or sending text messages or checking Twitter.
I know that’s more than six, but some of them count as one (television, cable box, remote, dvr). They really don’t stand well alone.
What are your favorite things in your home?
